The APERS Pearl Pendant is a personal emergency system, making help accessible at all times in and around the home. With a large emergency button, the Pearl Pendant is simple to activate.
Once activated, the outer ring of the personal medical alarm illuminates and flashes, reassuring the user that their alert has been received by the base unit, and that help is on the way.
Medical Alert Alarms should be worn at all times, including in the shower, bath, and at night in bed. As the device is small and lightweight (< 12 grams), wearing the Pearl Pendant is unobtrusive and discrete.
The Pearl Pendant’s surgical grade stainless steel chain is designed to release if it becomes caught on something. The Pearl Pendant has a 12-month warranty and requires a base unit to operate.

How it Works
If you need help, simply press the emergency button on the APERS Pearl personal alarm Pendant. You then receive fast emergency assistance.
The Pearl Pendant will connect to the Base Unit, which will transmit an alarm to our 24/7 Monitoring Service Care Team, who will then open a two-way voice channel to the Base Unit to determine what assistance is required.
Our Care Team will notify a designated emergency contact or emergency services. Our Care Team will also stay on the line until help arrives.

How far can I be from the base unit?
The Pearl Pendant has an open‑air range of up to 300 metres from the base unit, which covers most homes and surrounding outdoor areas.
Can I wear it in the shower or bath?
Yes. The device is waterproof and designed for continuous wear, including during bathing or showering.
How often do I need to replace the battery?
The Pearl Pendant battery lasts up to 3 years, depending on usage and testing frequency.
Can I replace the battery in my Pearl Pendant?
No. The Pearl Pendant is a sealed unit and the battery cannot be replaced. This design helps the device remain fully waterproof. Attempting to open it will damage the device and void the warranty. When the battery reaches the end of its life (typically up to 3 years), the entire Pearl Pendant will need to be replaced.
Does it work without a monitoring service?
No, it requires an APERS base unit connected to our 24/7 Monitoring Centre to provide emergency assistance.
Is the chain adjustable?
No, the chain is designed to suit most users and features a safety breakaway for added peace of mind.
How many Pearl devices can be programmed into the base unit?
Each APERS base unit can be programmed to work with multiple Pearl devices (pendants or wriststraps). This allows multiple users in the same household, or a combination of personal alarm buttons, to be connected to one base unit.
How do I order a replacement?
Each device is individually registered to the base unit, ensuring every activation is correctly identified and responded to by our Monitoring Centre. If you need to add or replace a pendant or wriststrap, please contact APERS Support to ensure it is correctly programmed and tested.
What happens if I press the button by mistake?
Let our team know when they answer and we will simply close the call. There is no penalty for false alarms.
How do I clean the Pendant?
To clean your Pearl Pendant, wash it in lukewarm water with a small amount of mild soap or detergent, gently use a soft brush to remove any buildup, then rinse and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth. Avoid using solvents or abrasive cleaners.
