Help stay safer when you’re working alone.
The APERS Safety Mate is a mobile personal alert alarm that can be used anywhere in Australia with 4G mobile coverage, making help accessible wherever you are. This personal alarm response system is IP67 water-resistant.
Whether you’re a community care worker, property inspector, maintenance technician or social worker, etc, APERS Safety Mate ensures that help is only one button away. Even if you can’t communicate, your GPS or Wi-Fi location will automatically be transmitted, allowing our team to pinpoint your position and coordinate the right response. You’ll never be left waiting or unheard.
- 24/7 monitoring
- Built in sim card, no phone required
- Can be programmed for silent activation
Lone workers often face unpredictable risks, from slips and falls to aggression or sudden medical events. The Safety Mate helps employers meet Work Health and Safety (WHS) obligations by providing an accessible, reliable emergency communication system that keeps field staff connected to assistance around the clock.
Fall Detection
Sometimes a fall can leave you unable to reach for help. With optional fall detection, your pendant or watch can automatically alert our team, making sure that assistance is on the way when you need it most.
Please note:
Our professionally monitored system provides a significant safety advantage over self-monitored devices. Self-monitored alarms rely on calling preset numbers, which can fail if phones are switched off, out of reception, or on silent.
Calling 000 is vital in an emergency, but it assumes the caller can talk, describe what’s happening, and provide an accurate location, something lone workers can’t always do during a fall, medical event or distressing situation. With the APERS Safety Mate, your location is transmitted automatically and our team briefs emergency services on your behalf, relaying key details and staying engaged until help arrives. If the situation escalates or you’re non-responsive, we coordinate your nominated contacts or call 000 to get the right assistance to you as quickly as possible.
The APERS Safety Mate connects directly to our 24/7 monitoring Team, ensuring every alarm is answered and help is on the way, even if the worker cannot speak.

Our Monitoring Centre is A-Graded and operates to strict Australian Standards for duress alarm response. Under AS2201.2:2022 Alarm and Electronic Security Systems – Part 2: Monitoring Centres, we must begin actioning duress alarm events fast, so help is arranged as quickly as possible — where every second counts. Not all third-party providers meet this benchmark; ungraded centres may have no mandated response time, creating dangerous delays when urgent assistance is needed. With APERS, your duress activations are handled to the highest professional standard.
How it Works
Our Care Team will notify a designated emergency contact, such as an employer or work colleague. Emergency services will also be contacted if/when required.
FAQ's
Below are some frequently asked questions. If you have additional questions, please contact us. Our friendly team are here to assist.
Does it work everywhere in Australia?
Yes, the Safety Mate works anywhere there is 4G mobile coverage.
Do I need a mobile phone?
No. The device has its own SIM and connects directly to our monitoring centre.
What happens if I press the button by mistake?
You’ll have a few seconds to cancel before it sends. If it does send, just let our Team know it was an error and no action will be taken.
Can multiple contacts be notified?
Yes. You can nominate several contacts such as your supervisor, employer, or next of kin.
How accurate is the GPS?
Typically 3–5 metres outdoors. Indoors, the device uses Wi-Fi triangulation for additional accuracy between 10 to 30 metres.
Can it get wet?
Yes. IP67 rated, safe for rain or shower use (not for swimming).
Can the device raise a silent duress alert?
Yes. We can program the Safety Mate so that all SOS alerts are silent. Our Team will not call the Safety Mate but follow the emergency escalation plan which may be to call your contacts or go direct to 000.
How is my data and location information used?
We only use essential information to respond to alarms and manage your service. Location is accessed during alerts and in line with privacy requirements.
How do charging and battery care work for shift work?
Typical use requires daily charging (~2 hours). For long shifts, consider mid-shift top-ups or a spare charging dock at the office/vehicle. The device provides low-battery alerts so you can charge before it’s critical.
