How it Works
If you need help, simply press the emergency button on the APERS Wriststrap personal alarm. You then receive fast emergency assistance.
The Pearl Wriststrap will connect to the Base Unit, which will transmit an alarm to our 24/7 Monitoring Service Care Team, who will then open a two-way voice channel to the Base Unit to determine what assistance is required.
Our Care Team will notify a designated emergency contact or emergency services. Our Care Team will also stay on the line until help arrives.

How far can I be from the base unit?
The Pearl Wriststrap has an open-air range of up to 300 metres from the base unit, which covers most homes and surrounding outdoor areas.
Can I wear it in the shower or bath?
Yes. The device is waterproof and designed for continuous wear, including during bathing or showering.
How often do I need to replace the battery?
The Pearl Wriststrap battery lasts up to 3 years, depending on usage and testing frequency.
Can I replace the battery in my Pearl Wriststrap?
No. The Pearl Wriststrap is a sealed unit and the battery cannot be replaced. This design ensures the device remains fully waterproof. Attempting to open will damage it and void the warranty. When the battery reaches the end of its life (typically up to 3 years), the entire Pearl Wriststrap will need to be replaced.
Does it work without a monitoring service?
No, it requires an APERS base unit connected to our 24/7 Monitoring Centre to provide emergency assistance.
Is the strap adjustable?
Yes, the strap is made from flexible polyurethane and fits most wrist sizes comfortably. We also have flexible stretch straps available.
How many Pearl Wriststraps or pendants can be programmed into the base unit?
Each APERS base unit can be programmed to work with multiple Pearl devices (wriststraps or pendants). This allows multiple users in the same household, or a combination of personal alarm buttons, to be connected to one base unit.
How do I order a replacement?
Each device is individually registered to the base unit, ensuring every activation is correctly identified and responded to by our Monitoring Centre. If you need to add or replace a wriststrap or pendant, please contact APERS Support to ensure it is correctly programmed and tested.
How do I clean the Wriststrap?
To clean your Pearl Wriststrap, wash it in lukewarm water with a small amount of mild soap or detergent, gently use a soft brush to remove any buildup, then rinse and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth. Avoid using solvents or abrasive cleaners.
