Mobile Care - Personal Alarms

Personal alarm devices when you are away from home – with built-in GPS locators.

Stay safe when you’re away from home. Confidence that help will be there when you need it.

In addition to in-home Personal Emergency Response System personal alarms, at APERS we also provide Mobile Personal Emergency Response System (MPERS) mobile personal alarms, so that you, your family and/or your loved ones have support when out and about away from home.

Our away-from-home mobile devices include our Freedom Friend personal alarm device for anyone of any age, plus our Safety Mate personal alarm device for lone-workers. Both options are designed for daily wear and are monitored 24/7.

Simply press the help button on the device to be connected to our APERS Care Team any hour of the day or night. We speak to you through the device, find out what is happening, and contact family, carers and emergency services if required. Choose Freedom Friend for everyday confidence out and about, and Safety Mate for staff working alone in the community.

MPERS devices are discreet and lightweight. They are suitable for people of any age, who are seeking a safety solution when away from home.

With our 4G MPERS mobile-usage wearable devices you can rely on our 24/7 Monitoring Centre Care Team when you and/or your loved-ones are out and about, travelling, or working, ensuring help can be easily reached when needed. Peace-of-mind at your finger-tips.

Fall Detection

Sometimes a fall can leave you unable to reach for help. With optional fall detection, your pendant or the APERS watch can automatically alert our Care Team, making sure that assistance is on the way when you need it most.

Freedom Friend: help beyond the front gate

Freedom Friend is a 4G mobile SOS device that travels with you – eg. when going to the shops, getting some sunshine, appointments, going on holidays, walking the dog, etc.

To seek assistance, simply press the help button to open two-way voice communication with our 24/7 Care Team. The built-in GPS technology also provides an approximate location so help can find you.

The Freedom Friend devices are comfortable to wear every day and are water resistant for showering and hand washing. Self-testing runs in the background and alerts our team if the battery or connectivity needs attention.

Freedom Friend: simple to use, easy to live with

The SOS help button on both the pendant and the watch devices are easy to see and find by feel, with light indicators and voice prompts so you know an alert has started.

You can also choose optional fall detection as a backup safety feature. Should a fall occur and you’re unable to press the button, this option becomes a safety net.

Your response plan is personalised with us and stored securely within our system. Amongst things it tells our Care Team who is to be notified first and when to call 000, should a situation arise.

Our devices are shipped preconfigured, so getting started using the device is very quick and easy.

Freedom Friend is ideal for older adults who stay active, people of any age with a disability, or anyone who wants mobile personal alarm support.

Safety Mate: confidence for lone and community workers

Safety Mate supports carers, support workers, night staff, off-site workers and anyone who works alone.

A discreet duress button connects to our 24/7 Care Team for rapid assistance, and the built-in GPS system shares an accurate approximate location during an alert. Optional timed check-ins and missed-check-in escalation keep supervisors informed without adding admin.

Our devices are built for workers providing everyday community visits, after-hours work, and any situation where you’re alone.

We help organisations, businesses and companies meet WHS obligations for remote and isolated work, while also helping keep your team members feeling safe with peace-of-mind.

Safety Mate: simple, auditable response

At APERS, clear escalation plans/paths are agreed upon with your organisation so every alert is handled the same way, every time.

Incidents are documented for governance and reporting, with on-demand summaries available when you need them.

Self-testing protocols, flag battery or coverage issues early so devices stay ready for the next shift.

We provide training and quick-start guides for fast device usage onboarding. Safety Mate also fits alongside Home Companion and Freedom Friend for client support.
