We provide 24/7 monitored personal alarms and emergency button devices that help keep you or your loved ones safe.
APERS (Australian Personal Emergency Response Systems) helps Australians live independently with confidence. For over 30 years, individuals, families, carers, health professionals and lone-workers have trusted us to respond FAST when something goes wrong. Our personal emergency alarms, SOS button emergency help pendants & watches and in-home systems connect straight to our Australian Monitoring Centre, staffed by our APERS Care Team 24 hours a day. With one press of a button, you can speak hands-free to one of our highly trained and experienced Care Team operator who will organise the right help and stay on the line until support arrives.
Please note: Not all personal emergency alert alarms on the market are created equal. Some 3rd-party personal alarms only attempt to contact several of your nominated contacts, and/or contact Triple Zero (000), instead of calling a 24/7 monitoring centre. If you or someone else were to press the SOS or help button on these 3rd-party devices, there is a risk that the person or people the device is trying to contact, could have their phone turned off, or have a flat mobile phone battery, have left their mobile phone in another room, have temporarily misplaced it, are asleep, have their phone on silent, etc.
In an emergency, you need to know that when the button is pressed, someone is going to respond straight away, understand your situation, determine your location and get the right emergency help to you asap (FAST). In an emerency, every second counts.
With our APERS systems, devices, personal pendants and watches, with one simple button press you can call for help anytime you need it. Our highly trained Care Team will answer, talk and listen, then take action to make sure you get correct assistance as quickly as possible. Our Care Team has first-aid training and are available 24 hours a day, so you are never left waiting or unheard.
We have been trusted by Australians for over 30 years

Please note: Not all personal emergency alert alarms on the market are created equal. Some 3rd-party personal alarms only attempt to contact several of your nominated contacts, and/or contact Triple Zero (000), instead of calling a 24/7 monitoring centre. If you or someone else were to press the SOS or help button on these 3rd-party devices, there is a risk that the person or people the device is trying to contact, could have their phone turned off, or have a flat mobile phone battery, have left their mobile phone in another room, have temporarily misplaced it, are asleep, have their phone on silent, etc.
The same things can occur at your end, including your mobile phone battery being flat. Imagine too if you have had a fall, are home alone, can’t get up and don’t have your mobile phone on you. How will you call for help?… [unless you are wearing an APERS one-button press device].
Additionally, if a 3rd party self-monitored device dials 000, you must still be able to speak, explain what has happened, and provide your location. Without this information, emergency services may not be able to send help. In a real emergency, this can be difficult or even impossible, especially if the person is injured, confused, or unable to speak.
In an emergency, you need to know that when the button is pressed, someone is going to respond straight away, AND determine your location.
An additional note: Not all 3rd party providers meet best standards. Some ungraded centres have no set response time, which can result in dangerous delays when someone needs urgent assistance.
At APERS, our 24/7 monitoring centre is an A Graded Monitoring Centre, which means it operates to strict Australian Standards. As soon as the help or SOS button is pressed, we are on the line to help. Our response times are fast. This ensures help is arranged as quickly as possible, where every second counts.
We are graded to AS2201.2:2022 – Alarm and Electronic Security Systems, Part 2: Monitoring Centres, giving you confidence that your safety, and/or the safety of your loved ones, is being handled to the highest professional standard.
Sometimes a fall can leave you unable to reach for help. With optional fall detection, your pendant can automatically alert our Care Team, making sure that assistance is on the way when you need it most.
Please note: Imagine an emergency situation where the ambulance has had to be called, and you, or your parent, or other family member, are home alone and need help. If emergency services cannot easily get into your home, what then? With us at APERS, we can provide a high-quality APERS Key Safe. In an emergency, we can provide the location of the Key Safe and the login pin number to the Ambulance, so they can easily unlock it, extract your spare house key from within it, and then gain entry FAST!
It goes without saying, that in an emergency, the faster you’re attended to, the better the outcome may be. Contact our Australian-based customer consultant team during business hours Monday to Friday, to find out more and/or arrange your personal alarms. Buy or rent, depending on what works best for you.
A cautionary note: Please do not rely on your mobile phone to aid you in an emergency. If your phone is flat, or you are knocked unconscious, or your mobile phone is taken from you, or becomes out of reach, water-damaged, or broken, smashed or immobilised in any way, it will be useless in an emergency situation. On the other hand, APERS personal alarm devices are worn around your neck (under or over your clothing), as a wristwatch, or as a pocket device. They are very easy to operate, discreet, NOT connected to your phone, and IP67 water-resistant. They work anywhere in Australia where there is 4G mobile coverage. They have their OWN SIM Card built in.
Our Care Team is on duty day and night, every day of the year, so when an alarm alert is triggered, they are responded to FAST by our trained operators.
Our operators use step by step questions, similar to formal emergency call handling approaches, to clarify what is happening and decide what assistance is needed next.
When an alarm comes through, we respond to it quickly, open two way voice where possible and start putting your response plan into action without unnecessary delay.
With your consent, we securely store key contact details with your agreed response plan, so we can quickly reach the right people when an alarm is raised.
We follow the plan agreed with you and your family, contacting nominated responders or emergency services in the order you prefer, based on your situation and risks.
Our Care Team receives ongoing training, coaching and call reviews. They are always prepared to handle any emergency and support you calmly and compassionately.
Where possible we stay on the call, offering calm reassurance, checking how you are feeling and updating you while you wait for help to arrive.
Our monitoring centre operates to documented procedures with regular audits and performance checks. We maintain consistent standards and continuous improvement.
